Les Arc's 1800m - 1997
This was my first snowboarding holiday. Me and a few mates managed to get onto Nottingham Universitys winter trip with all of the discounts. It was a 24hr coach trip to get there and a bloody nightmare as the university rugby team went, got pissed & threw up in the coach. The lift pass covered the french alpine resorts of Les Arcs 1600/1800/2000m. It was brilliant, i did my first cliff drop (only 6 foot, so more of a ledge drop) and knocked myself out taking off a fun park kicker wrong. It was 9am in the morning, the kicker was a frozen block of ice and i rotated backwards in the air landing on my head and shoulder from about 6 foot..............with no helmet! When i came around my mate was trying to get my board off my feet, i couldn't breath and had blood coming out my mouth. I thought i'd punchered a lung, in reality i'd really winded myself and bit my lip! The nights out with the students were a real laugh, this is one of the best winter holidays i've had. When i've got some photos and video onto the pc i'll put them on here.
